About the Speaker
Elizabeth Barbone was born was multiple, severe food allergies. This fact, however, did not stop her from pursuing a a degree from the Culinary Institute of America. "When my allergist found out I had applied to the CIA, he almost fell over! But I wanted to learn how to make wonderful food for people, like me, who live on a restricted diet."
While at the Culinary Institute of America, Elizabeth became interested in gluten-free baking. "The idea of baking without gluten seemed like a fantastic challenge! I feel in love with the process and was delighted to share my recipes with people on a gluten-free diet. My standard has always been to create foods that are delicious. Everyone, even if they are on a restricted diet, is looking for yummy treats."
After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Elizabeth began teaching gluten-free baking classes. She then founded GlutenFreeBaking.com, a web site for anyone who bakes gluten-free.
Easy Gluten-Free Baking is Elizabeth's fist cookbook. It is filled with recipes she has shared with her students during her popular gluten-free baking classes.
When not updating her web site or traveling the country teaching classes, Elizabeth Barbone can be found at home Troy, NY-- usually reading a book or thinking about what to make for supper.
