Joy Bauer has built one of the largest nutrition centers in the country. Located in Manhattan and Westchester, Joy Bauer Nutrition, provides counseling to both adults and children dealing with a variety of nutritional concerns.
Joy is the author of several New York Times bestselling books, including Joy's LIFE Diet (Harper Collins, December 2008) and Joy Bauer's Food Cures (Rodale, April 2007).Joy received her Bachelor degree in Kinesiological Sciences from the University of Maryland and a master of science in nutrition from New York University. At the beginning of her career, Joy completed a five-year post as Director of Nutrition and Fitness for the "Heart-Smart Kids Program" - a program that she developed for the Mount Sinai Medical Center's Department of Pediatric Cardiology in New York City.
Joy also served as nutrition consultant for the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where she designed and supervised their ongoing research in eating disorders and weight management. Furthermore, Joy served as the clinical nutritionist with the neurosurgical team at Mount Sinai Medical Center and taught anatomy & physiology and sports nutrition at New York University's School of Continuing Education. She was also the exclusive nutritionist for New York University's faculty, students, and athletes.
Kay Hall, RD, is a clinical dietitian at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Because of their diverse input, Clinical Nutrition department personnel are integral members of the multidisciplinary team that provides patient care at St. Jude. Clinical Nutrition staff provides nutritional care (oral, enteral, parenteral) for patients. Registered dietitians coordinate and provide individual responses to each patient's nutritional needs.
Hall is a graduate of the University of Memphis in Tennessee. She is a member of the Association of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition and Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group of Memphis; a member of L.E.A.P. (Lactation, Education and Promotion); and a certified lactation counselor. She joined St. Jude in 2001.
Erin McKenna is the chef and owner of BabyCakes NYC, a bakery with outposts in New York City and West Hollywood. She received the prestigious Best Cupcake award in 2006 from New York magazine. Erin has been a guest on Martha Stewart Television and the Food Network and has been featured in the New York Times, Food & Wine, Modern Bride, VegNews, Harper's Bazaar, In Style, and O, the Oprah Magazine. Kelly Traver,
M.D. is the
creator of THE PROGRAMandfounder of MD Health Evolution, an
organization devoted to empowering all individuals in their personal health. She
received her medical degree at Stanford where she specialized in internal
medicine and served an additional year as chief resident. Dr. Traver has been
practicing medicine for more than seventeen years. Her background also includes
research in biochemistry, teaching in a Stanford neuroanatomy lab, and a brief
public health study in South Africa. An award-winning educator, she serves as
an adjunct clinical assistant professor of medicine at Stanford.She is also on the board of the Institute of
the Future and recently served as Google's medical director. She now works with corporations, health care
organizations, and the government to provide optimal health care programs to
their employees and/or participants.Dr.
Traver lives with her husband and children in California.
