Elizabeth Barbone was born with multiple, severe food allergies. This fact, however, did not stop her from pursuing a a degree from the Culinary Institute of America. "When my allergist found out I had applied to the CIA, he almost fell over! But I wanted to learn how to make wonderful food for people, like me, who live on a restricted diet."
Alice Bast is the Founder and “Diva of Diagnosis” of the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness. Alice turned the experience of being diagnosed with Celiac into a positive by developing a foundation that serves others living with the disease. Under her guidance the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness has flourished into one of America’s most excellent and useful means of information for diagnosed and undiagnosed Celiac patients and their caregivers.
